| Jace went back to Austria over Christmas and I took Jake (6yrs) up for a couple of months – I mastered the art of holding my mouth zipped shut (albeit in a contorted grimace) while the little black bullet soared over jump after jump on the skifield…I’m sure some of his miscalculations left him in positions which would have seen me transported to hospital. (Read about skiing in Jakes words). It took us a wee while to learn that you never stop and wait for Jake – he’s already long gone and probably ducking and diving in the trees somewhere up ahead.

Jace also persuaded two highly qualified and very clever Austrians to follow him home and work for us, so Natalie and Helmuth have recovered from jet lag and are doing a superb job in the shop. (They are both already hooked on Icebreaker Merino…and understand the kiwi term “beer o’clock".)
Oh, and Jace has been selected for the NZ Demo Team training squad this year so he has no excuses and will have to finally put his gym card to use. (I won’t mind at all…)
Once again we have some outstanding new stock this year from Volkl, Fischer, Tecnica, Nordica, Marker, and brand new rental snowboards and boots. There is some gorgeous clothing for skiing and all sorts of accessories to check out.
